For the first time ever, a tunnel spanning 10.8 kilometers will be dug under the powerful Hooghly river, pushing the boundaries of innovation to create a method of public transport unlike any other. Construction has begun on a gigantic offshore oil rig more than 200 kilometers off the coast of Mumbai. It is set to be one of the world’s largest offshore rigs ever, surrounded by ocean on all sides. The complex projects displayed in ‘Extreme Engineering’ make use of some of the world’s most advanced engineering innovations, highlighting how the latest technologies will not only build a solid social infrastructure for the Indian people but also drive economic growth in the county, resulting in a stronger and more united nation – and a better planet.
