Against the backdrop of pristine snow-capped peaks a herd of goats meander their way amongst the meadows with its herder. A Gaddi, descendant from the pastoralist tribe of the Dhauladhar ranges is following the footsteps of his forefathers. For decades, this semi-nomadic life has been the mainstay of the Gaddis.
But today climatic changes are powerfully changing the socio- economic security for these communities. The herders have always remained secluded and isolated for decades. With the threat of climate change, their livelihoods and culture is now on the verge of being lost forever.
The film follows some of these herders and their stories and looks for alternatives and solutions for these nomads.
This is part of a series of 4 films funded by the Himachal Pradesh government.
